Welcome to our sports page for those people who feel their visit to Carvoeiro is not just for relaxing by the beach or pool, sight seeing and enjoying the local cuisine. We list a few of the sports activities available in and around Carvoeiro.

Tennis – For those who have perhaps indulged a little and feel their waist lines have expanded, or even just the keen players who feel their holiday is not complete without a game of tennis there are several clubs available which also include other sporting activities. Carvoeiro Tennis and Fitness Clube has several tennis courts as well as aerobic classes, the fitness centre (gym), table tennis, billards, mini golf and have a go on the trampoline (tel: 282 357 847 to book a court). There is also a small bar/restaurant and a beauty salon within the Centre. There are also tennis courts and a fitness centre at Rocha Brava and several classes for aerobics, pilates, step, gym etc. Phone 282 358 856 for details.

Horse Riding – For horse lovers, how about a beautiful horseback ride with the wind blowing in your hair enjoying the spectacular scenery.  The Quinta da Gill Riding Centre, at Lombos, near Lagoa gives lessons for all abilities with qualified instructors, or you can hire horses for hacking with direct access to Bridle ways. Game Fishing - Game fishing can be arranged from the quay in Portimao which is about 10/15 drive. There are several boats for charter with and without crew. Experience the joy of game fishing and try your hand at catching White Marlin, Swordfish, Dourados and many more. For the less adventurous, cast your rod from the rocks or the beach for bass, sea bream and mackerel etc., then home to the barbeque for a feast.

Scuba Diving is available from the beach/rocks along the coast and can be arranged through 'Scuba Tour' diving centre at Rocha Brava, Centianes(282 353 263). They can arrange training dives for age 10 to 80, in the swimming pool with instructors followed by open water introduction. Diving courses can also be arranged through the Almansor Hotel.

Bicycles It is possible to hire bicyles and motor bikes on the road leading out of Carvoeiro.
